    Why Belluna Dome plays differently

Belluna Dome is the odd one out among NPB's roofed parks: it has a roof but no walls, so it blocks rain while letting wind, heat and cold straight through. Spring and autumn games can feel like outdoor baseball in a wind tunnel, and summer humidity pools under the roof with little relief.

    Belluna Dome weather FAQs

Only partly. The roof keeps rain off, but the open sides mean wind and outside temperatures reach the field. It plays much closer to an outdoor park than a true dome.

Yes. Wind flows through the open sides and can swirl under the roof. It is one of the few roofed parks anywhere where the forecast still matters.

The roof was added over the original outdoor stadium in the late 1990s without enclosing the sides, which is why it keeps its unusual half-indoor character.
