That matters: on an unshifted Rams body clock, the game falls in late Thursday afternoon — a normal, even favourable time to play, not the overnight hours a "don't adjust" strategy would usually risk. If this trip behaves like the westward-style shift, the expected impact is smaller than the "17-hour time difference" framing implies.

It is the first NFL game in Melbourne and the first regular-season game to cross the international dateline, so this is informed context, not a tested prediction. We are not claiming to know which approach is better — both are defensible and evidence-informed, and both avoid the same known risk of partial adjustment, which the research treats as the worst-case middle ground.
